![]() ![]() If you’re looking for a more capable frontline unit, look to Kellam for Pavise over Aegis, which can be used to prolong the combat he can endure with melee units. Ricken is going to provide the most base damage in any case, along with Luna and Aegis for a durable, powerful support-line unit. ![]() Their class options are better spent on other children, though (they both have two overlaps with Laurent’s base classes). Then, of course, there are the obvious Libra and Henry, who slightly boost magic and give access to Renewal and Lethality/Pass respectively. Slightly out of left field, Kellam buffs Laurent’s defenses and preserves his magic stat, while granting Luna and Pavise, making him a virtually unthought of but highly positive option. Also, Stahl, Lon'qu, and Gaius all allow Vantage+Nosferatu healing builds, without really sacrificing magic. Ricken will give Luna to help pull off more kills (including more Lifetaker activations on the player phase), and so can Stahl, although Ricken trumps Stahl’s magic attributes by far. So, embrace it! Use parents that will preserve or enhance his magical prowess. Laurent is going to have excellent magic, and he is going to have subpar strength this is unavoidable. ![]() You can push for high damage output and heal as necessary, keeping Nosferatu as an ‘occasional’ weapon. Note: You can use the fathers listed here for Nosferatanking, too, because Laurent favors it naturally, but it will be more difficult without Armsthrift. Just don’t give Donnel!Laurent Counter, as that will actually reduce Nosferatu’s usefulness. Also, when it activates, Sol doubles the effect of Nosferatu, healing for 100% of damage dealt (actually Dmg - 1, if Dmg % 2 = 1).īecause Gregor often finds himself paired to other mothers (like Cherche or Panne), you’ll probably use Donnel for this. This is one of few situations where Donnel’s luck is favorable, as Donnel!Laurent’s capped 98% Armsthrift activation rate trumps Gregor’s by 8% (which arguably isn’t much, but it’s an advantage). However, Donnel isn’t a poor choice either. He also gives more aggressive procs (Lethality, Astra, and Sol, where Donnel only provides Sol). Vantage can’t mix with Lifetaker to any effect (they activate on different phases), but it can work in tandem with Armsthrift and Nosferatu to provide perpetual healing, even giving it priority over would-be deadly attacks when in critical situations, which cannot be stressed enough. There’s only two options for this, Donnel and Gregor, and of the two, Gregor is the better choice (despite negating Laurent’s luck bonus), because Gregor provides Armsthrift and Vantage. But not everyone wants to do that, so we’re going to consider both this possibility and a more “traditional” one. While able to do this without input from any of his potential fathers, it works best with Armsthrift access, since dark tomes in general break quickly, let alone Nosferatu and Aversa’s Night. Doesn’t hurt that he can inherit Renewal from his mother, either. Laurent has innate access to Dark Mage, meaning dark magic, meaning….Nosferatank. But it’s his class set that’s going to change the game. He’s a special case, which we’re going to see very soon.īase Modifiers: -1 Str, +4 Mag, +2 Skl, +2 Spd, +1 Lck, -1 Def, +1 Resīase Growths: HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def ResĪnother magic emphasis unit, with more balanced defenses. Time for a look at the analytic introvert of our party. ![]()
